Jen Sincero has created an amazing self help book. She motivating. She's down to earth. She's a little crass. She's funny. Everything you will probably want to get a little kick in gear.
Actually, I'm well aware there are some people who are going to be turned off by the cursing. Which, to be fair, isn't actually too bad throughout the book. She is sarcastic though and those bits fill the book. But in a way that will fit a certain type of people. If you don't like sarcasm, this isn't the book for you (and hey, that's okay; there's other ones out there).
Jen's book is filled with personal examples as well as some examples from people she has worked with. She talks about her own battles in being motivated and some of her blocks when it has come to money that has set her back and kept her from moving forward.
I think one of the things that has stuck with me most from her book is talking about change. She references the energy that keeps us on the path we've been on and how when we fight to change that path, it often seems like everything possible is trying to keeps us from making the change. Oftentimes, we give up because there's so many seemingly insurmountable barriers.
I faced this myself this year with trying to start a business in the middle of a pandemic. Here I was, branching out and deciding to no longer work for an agency. But there were the additional barriers of social distancing, people working from home in government agencies, lack of funding for just starting out businesses; and that's really just the tip of the iceberg. Huge change; huge obstacles.
Another part that sticks out to me is 'source energy' which Jen references really just aligns with your personal spiritual beliefs and encouraged the openness to 'tap into it.' She lays out how to do it in her book.
Overall, I think Jen Sincero does an excellent job at taking a lot of information and condensing it into a message that the average person can relate to and understand. Furthermore, she encourages you to be the best YOU you can be. And she words it all much better than I ever could. So check out her page here.
